STEVEN SHU, MD, MBA: PRESIDENT

Dr. Shu graduated from Shanghai Medical University in 1984. He was an assistant professor in surgery (Lecturer) before relocating to the United States in the early ’90s, later became an attending family physician in 2000.

Dr. Shu worked as an office proceduralist from 2002 to 2009. He established his procedure clinic One Stop Medical Center in 2008 and Shu Cosmetic Surgery the following year, providing a variety of cosmetic surgery and medical procedure services. He served as an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine for six years and also holds a Physician E-MBA degree.

Dr. Shu has been devoted to community service since 2003. He dedicated his time to establishing both the Minnesota Chinese Physician Association and the Minnesota Chinese Health Center, a free weekend clinic. He also founded the Chinese community newspaper Minnesota Times in 2007.

In 2014, Dr. Shu joined No-Scalpel Vasectomy International, Inc (NSVI), an international medical mission organization led by urologists Dr. Doug Stein in Florida. Dr. Shu has been participating in the vasectomy mission every year since then.

Dr. Shu established the Surgeon Volunteers in 2017, and he leads the Asian doctors from North America to volunteer in impoverished countries.

Dr. Shu has participated or led a team of doctors to Haiti, Philippines and Cambodia 17 times.
